En esta investigación se establece temas como: el concepto de recreación; el juego recreativo desde el punto de vista pedagógico durante la etapa de inicial; el derecho de los niños a participar de actividades recreativas y de esparcimiento; su importancia para la salud y el efecto del juego recreativo en el desarrollo del cerebro del niño durante sus primeros años de vida. De igual forma se realizó una encuesta entre educadoras del nivel preescolar para conocer si realmente el juego recreativo es aplicado correctamente en las aulas de nuestro país. Por medio de esta investigación se buscó resaltar la importancia de establecer un periodo dentro del planeamiento escolar que permita a los niños recrearse libremente y obtener los beneficios aquí planteados.The concept of recreation has been considered for a long time by many people as a simple act of entertainment and leisure without considering the great benefits it brings to the child’s development, like those obtained during long and structured academic sessions. This research establishes the concept of recreation, from the pedagogical point of view in the early years, the right of children to participate in recreational and leisure activities, its importance and the effect of recreational play on the development of the child’s brain during the first years of life. A survey was also conducted among preschool educators to determine if recreational play is applied correctly in our country’s classrooms.
