Se aplicará una encuesta tomando en consideración los elementos de la metodología y el problema de investigación, buscando medir las consideraciones de los consultados. Uno de los resultados más relevantes fue el décimo cuarto ítems referente a la opinión de los encuestados sobre si la planificación urbana sostenible ha abordado de manera efectiva el desafío del cambio climático, implementando medidas de mitigación y adaptación para reducir la vulnerabilidad de las ciudades y comunidades, de los 79 participantes, 34% señalaron en desacuerdo, 35% neutral, 18% de acuerdo y 13% muy de acuerdo. Estas cifras sugieren que hay cierto escepticismo y falta de convencimiento entre los funcionarios encuestados sobre la efectividad de las medidas de mitigación y adaptación implementadas en el contexto de la planificación urbana sostenible para reducir la vulnerabilidad de las ciudades y comunidades ante los efectos del cambio climático. Finalmente, se recomienda que es importante reforzar medidas de mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático. Esto incluye la promoción de infraestructuras sostenibles y la implementación de acciones concretas para enfrentar este desafío ambiental.This article presents the results of a quantitative research whose objective is to analyze sustainable urban planning and its application with principles of social equity, economic efficiency and environmental sustainability of territorial planning for urban development in Panama. A survey will be applied taking into consideration the elements of the methodology and the research problem, seeking to measure the considerations of those consulted. One of the most relevant results was the fourteenth item referring to the respondents' opinion on whether sustainable urban planning has effectively addressed the challenge of climate change, implementing mitigation and adaptation measures to reduce the vulnerability of cities and communities, of the 79 participants, 34% indicated disagreement, 35% neutral, 18% agreed and 13% strongly agreed. These figures suggest that there is some skepticism and lack of conviction among the officials surveyed about the effectiveness of mitigation and adaptation measures implemented in the context of sustainable urban planning to reduce the vulnerability of cities and communities to the effects of climate change. Finally, it is recommended that it is important to reinforce mitigation and adaptation measures to climate change.
