La manera de enseñar y aprender ha cambiado con la implementación y uso de las tecnologías. La mayoría de la información y el conocimiento está digitalizada en la red y el profesorado debe ser quien guie al alumnado en su proceso de aprendizaje. La tecnología y las herramientas digitales por sí solas no guían al estudiante; por ello, la labor del docente es hoy más importante que nunca, y por ese motivo es imprescindible que estén preparados y adquieran habilidades y competencias digitales. En este artículo exponemos los conceptos necesarios y los pilares fundamentales de las competencias digitales que debe tener un docente para motivar el uso de estas nuevas herramientas.The great progress and constant development of technologies, has caused globally that we live in a virtual context based on connections and the use of digital tools. The way of teaching and learning has changed with the implementation and use of technologies. Most of the information and knowledge is digitized on the network and teachers must be the ones who guide students in their learning process. Technology and digital tools alone do not guide the student; therefore, the work of teachers is today more important than ever, and for that reason it is essential that they are prepared and acquire digital skills and competencies.
